Trojans Top Hawks 6-3 in Early-Season Tuneup

MILL VALLEY, CA — It was a high-caliber clash of North Coast powerhouses on a beautiful Friday at 700 Miller Avenue, which felt more like May than February, as the Tam High Red-Tailed Hawks hosted the Petaluma Trojans. While Petaluma ultimately walked away with a hard-fought 6-3 victory, both programs showcased why they are among the region's elite.

Tam’s starter, Aidan Dodge, earned his first start on the bump for the Hawks, pitching three innings, allowing four hits and three earned. Henry Pearson, Henry Bennett, and Lars Jackson all pitched scoreless frames to keep the Hawks in the ball game.

The Trojans were led by Rowan Ball, whose two-run home run served as the afternoon's offensive highlight. Petaluma’s disciplined approach at the plate was evident, as they struck out only twice the entire game. Dalton Deadman also played a key role for the visitors, using his speed to pressure the defense and score twice.

Tam High proved they could go toe-to-toe with a NCS opponent. Alex Radics stayed hot, going 2 for 4 with an RBI double, while Anthony Murphy and Hank Murray recorded RBI hits as well.

Tam falls to 1-1 to start the year and looks forward to opening MCAL play next week against Terra Linda.
